hello world! i can tell you, i am slightly embarrassed of my lack of blogging.
but i promise, i have been so busy and i have so many beautiful weddings to share with you!
i have been busy shooting and also working on my lifestyle blog with my best friend.

anyways, guys.. this wedding. i can’t even put it into words. well, if i could the one word i could describe it .. magic.
the wedding was in deep in the heart of the blue ridge mountains. i met victoria when i shot wedding last fall.
she emailed me not too long after they got engaged and said that they were getting married on a pony farm. she won me over with those two words: pony farm.
hey, here’s a fun fact we walked 3 miles to & fro to get to those ponies.

over a year ago malcolm was studying in costa rica and sarah told me that she was going to marry him one day. i had no doubt that these two would have a happy ending because their beginning came with so much promise. sarah is one of my closest friends. malcolm gave her a stunning ring a few weeks ago with a question while they were picnicking on the beach and later that night i got a voicemail screaming “i’m engaged!!”
i am beyond happy for these two. feeling completely blessed that i have the opportunity to capture one of my dearest friends weddings. i can’t help but tear up when i see my friends find their soul mate. love, what a beautiful thing. now.. go look at this beautiful couple.. come on!

I can’t help but smile when I think of this wedding. It was so simple, but yet so beautiful. I met with Crystal last spring over coffee to talk about her wedding. I could see the giddiness in her eyes. Her and Jon had been long distance for most of their relationship. Their matrimony meant they were able to be together at last.

Jon wrote the sweetest review about my photography and I can’t help but share it.

“On the day of the wedding, Chelsea was perfect. There is truly no time to worry about telling the photographer where to be, when to be taking pictures, and where to stand at during all the stages of a wedding. However, Chelsea was ready and proved to be professional, discreet, and insightfully brilliant. She was patient with the younger siblings, firm with adults, and above all, true to the wishes of the bride and groom. She was in the foreground when you needed her to be, giving directions; yet also in the background quietly capturing memories, when you were creating moments with the ones you love.
Chelsea has a style that is all her own, but she catered to our every whim, and like an ice cream vendor recommending their favorite flavor, she added bits of her flair to our ideas, resulting in a deliciously beautiful experience.
Needless to say, once the wedding is over and photographs have been taken, you are left to wait and hope that the pictures will have captured the experiences you remember. To say that the photographs met our expectations would be an enormous understatement. While I could go on for hours about the happiness Chelsea’s photography brought us, I will spare the gushing personal opinions, and instead focus on some of the truly exceptional things about Chelsea’s work.
Chelsea was prompt with the delivery of our photos, and was absolutely generous with the amount of photos she took the time to compile. I was amazed at how large and crystal clear Chelsea’s photos were. I run a 2560×1440 resolution monitor, and not only did the pictures fill and exceed the screen width, but there was not even the slightest hint of pixelation in the photographs. Bottom line, Chelsea’s work was worth every penny, and we could not have been happier with our decision to use her for our wedding.
Still not convinced? Feel free to email me at jonathon.simmons.10@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to answer any question you have about Chelsea’s work, or about our experience with her. ”

nothing is better than working with fellow artists. zack + ashley are both graphic design students in st. augustine, fl. i got an email from zack about a month ago about shooting their wedding in charleston. you could tell we were both pretty excited about this possibility because we exchanged so many emails in such a short time. plus, it was new for me to be emailing back and forth with the groom!
i had never been to charleston and i have always dreamt of shooting a wedding there. not to spill the beans or anything but their wedding will be the ultimate southern weddings. they are getting married at the only tea plantation in the u.s. they took me by it and it was magical. so, lets just say i am pretty ready for it to be october already.
shooting them was easy. i love this couple. we had the best time. not only did i book an awesome pari, but i would like to think i gained two new friends.

in june i got the email of my dreams. “we ran across your photos on kinfolk’s facebook..” (dream line right there) the rest of the email went something like this “we had been searching for a photographer like you out here in california, and we couldn’t find someone so we are taking the leap to see if you will come out to san francisco to shoot our wedding.” with no hesitation, didn’t even have to think twice, i replied instantly and said that three letter word, yes.
we met up on skype one afternoon and i knew that this was the perfect match. karmin + brookie exude so much warmth. so much love. love for others, and each other.
i flew out to san francisco so giddy because i hadn’t ever been. once i stepped out of the plane it was an adventure. my friend ben picked me up and we ventured into the mountains (see my personal blog to see those images: afondlife.blogspot.com)
the rest of the trip was a dream. the wedding was in this tiny town tucked away in the mountains in bolinas. we didn’t have cell phone service, and it was the serenity i had needed for a long time. the home we stayed at was where the wedding would be at.
this wedding is what dreams were made of. i could write more, but i want you to see what i saw with your eyes.
